Text Box: At Bishan Home, we firmly believe in the benefit of being a part of the wider community. Not only do our residents have more joyful and esteemed lives through making of friends from outside of the home, it is also an important channel for people to develop greater understanding, tolerance and inclusiveness for people with disabilities. Volunteers Volunteers are our key partners in serving our intellectually disabled clients by supporting us with their unique skills, talents and knowledge. Volunteers help bond our clients with the wider community so that they may live quality lives in a society that is understanding, inclusive and respectful.               Our current volunteers come from the Grassroots, Schools, Welfare organizations, corporations and individuals. You could work directly or indirectly with our residents in any of the following area and we are always open to suggestions on new ways to serve our residents: •            Be an Outing Buddy during visits to places of interest and participation in community events. •            Help in our resident’s daily activities such as their classes, therapy, karaoke, arts & craft, music & drama and games etc. •            Clean and maintain premises. •            Gardening and pet care. •            Production of publications, video film, CD ROMs etc. •            Photography.
